The Body Shop: Lip & Cheek Stain
Hey everyone while browsing through the sales I thought I would pick up a Lip & cheek stain. I have used lip stain products before and I really enjoy using them because I like to put lipstick of the same colour over the stain and then I get coverage for much longer. However for the purpose of this review I didn't do that with this product.
The Body Shop: Lip & Cheek Stain (£8.00). I got the shade Dark cherry 018 there are nine shades in total. They are different shades of red and pink. I really love the packaging and the soft applicator it just feels really well made when holding and using the product. This lip stain is a liquid it's not very thick. When you first put the stain on your lips it feels very wet and does dry matte however I had problems with this trying to get it to dry even. My bottom lip was easier to do than the top lip, I took quite a while to get an even coverage longer than what I would want it to take just to do my lips. Once I did get an even coverage it was quite sheer so I had to build the colour up however if you want a more natural look you can go for one or two layers I did three for more of a red lip.
This does say it is also a cheek stain and I'm going to be honest with you I'm not a blush kinda girl I don't use it that often I did try it out and did not like it. It drys far to quickly and had to scrub my face clean and redo my make up. Safe to say I do not like this product as a blush but I believe my opinion is biased as I said I'm not really a fan of blush.
Once the product had dried on the lips I did actually like the colour and it does last quite some time. The stain is a little drying which is to be expected with lip stains but you can always add lip gloss or lip balm over the top.
Do I like this product? Yes.
Will I use it again? Yes but not like an everyday kind of thing.
Will I buy it again? Maybe. My favourite lip stain was the Primark one unfortunately I never see it in stores or online anymore. So there is a possibility of me buying this again.
Would I recommend to a friend? Maybe I would tell them to go for it if they where really curious about The Body Shop makeup or just lip stains in general.
